I’ve now created a site where you can get recently played last.fm signature image. Feel free to use it, or if you prefer something a little smaller/more discreet you can still use the service described below.
I love the last.fm service, and use it a lot but I couldn’t find a service which provided a forum signature which would automatically update with the track I just listened to. So I created one, and you’re welcome to use it too.
If you want to let other forum users know what track you most recently scrobbled to last.fm, then feel free to put it in your forum signature. The PHPbb code below will display your last.fm forum signature to the masses!

All you need to do is replace the insert_username_here part with your own last.fm username. Mine is NickJennings88, so my code would be [img]http://www.file-cabinet.co.uk/lastfm/sig.png?user=NickJennings88[/img].
I’d be very grateful if you would include a link back to this page in your signature. To do this, just put this code in your forum signature:

It will look exactly the same, but it’s click-able. So you’ll get a fab last.fm forum signature, and I’ll get to spread the word!
Just to let you know, that if you don’t include the ?user= part, then it will by default use my account details and if the last.fm username you provide isn’t valid, it won’t work at all. The end results will look something like my last.fm forum signature
The image has a transparent background and black text, so should look good in your signature on any forum unless it has a dark background. In the future I hope to make this customisable, which would be cool. A choice of fonts/colours/sizes/wording etc would be great I think.
If you are going to use this, then please consider the fact that I will store the referring URL (the page which displays the forum signature), the last.fm username, and the time of each request. I promise not to share these data with anyone. I just want to keep a few stats for my own interest, and see how the service is used. If you are not happy with this data being collected, please do not use the service. If you want your data removed, or want a copy of what I have stored, contact me with your last.fm username.
